With our location right on the edge of Mariager Fjord, there is plenty of room to slow down, enjoy the silence, and let your eyes wander along the water. Many of our guests highlight the tranquility, the views, and the beautiful sunsets as some of the things they remember most from their stay. Precisely because nature is such a big part of the experience here, we want to take good care of it. That’s why we’ve chosen to join the Green Stay certification program. Through our partnership with Green Stay, we receive guidance from experts so that we can continuously work on initiatives that move us toward greater sustainability and reduce our environmental footprint. We continually work to protect the natural surroundings, use our resources responsibly and reduce our environmental impact. Here are some of the measures we have already introduced as part of our daily operations. #### Nature and Biodiversity Nature is an important part of the experience at Mariager Camping, and we want to create space for more than just people. That is why we have installed bird nesting boxes and created several areas of wild grass and flowers throughout the campsite. These areas provide better conditions for birds, insects and other small animals. Where possible, we also leave fallen tree trunks to decompose naturally, helping to create habitats for insects and other organisms. We have chosen sedum plants for the roof of our luxury shelter. From May to September, the flowering sedum attracts bees and butterflies. #### Energy and Water We are working to reduce our energy and water consumption through practical solutions across our facilities. Solar energy: We have solar panels on the roof that help reduce resource consumption associated with heating water. Green electricity: We have chosen green electricity as part of our efforts to reduce our carbon footprint. Water-saving taps: All taps in our toilet facilities are fitted with water-saving features to help limit water consumption. Water softening: Our water softening system reduces limescale build-up, helping to reduce the amount of water and cleaning products needed for cleaning. #### Cleaning and Resource Consumption We also focus on reducing the use of paper, cleaning products and other resources in our day-to-day operations. Easy-to-clean materials: In our service buildings, we have chosen materials that are easy to clean, helping us reduce the resources needed for cleaning. Reduced paper consumption: By installing hand dryers, we have reduced the need for paper towels. Environmentally labelled cleaning products: We use environmentally labelled cleaning products to help reduce our impact on the environment. Environmentally certified laundry service: We work with an environmentally certified laundry provider to support more environmentally responsible laundry practices. We know that sustainability is an ongoing journey. That is why we continue to look for ways to make our operations more resource-efficient, so that our guests can keep enjoying wonderful experiences surrounded by the nature we care so much about. ### Our ESG Commitment For us, sustainability is about more than individual initiatives. It is an integral part of how we run Mariager Camping – with consideration for nature, our guests, our employees, and the local community. To gain a clear overview of our efforts, we have prepared an ESG report. The report describes where we are today, the initiatives we are already working on, and the opportunities we see for further improvement. ESG stands for **Environmental, Social and Governance** – focusing on environmental responsibility, social responsibility, and responsible business practices. The report is an important tool that helps us set clear goals and make informed decisions as we continue to reduce our environmental impact and strengthen our commitment to sustainability. We see sustainability as an ongoing journey. We are continually learning and striving to improve, one step at a time. ### Social Responsibility At Mariager Camping, social responsibility is all about people.
